Randy Casey's Late Bloomer Emerges in February 2008

In 1999, Minneapolis based guitarist/singer/songwriter Randy Casey did one of the dumbest things a musician can do -- he married a music critic.

Five years later, the marriage ended.

To many musicians, this would have equated to career suicide. To Casey, it meant reinvention.

"I went through a real dark period," Casey reveals. "I wound up at the bottom of a hole and had to retreat for a while. I felt like I didn't just lose my marriage, but also my connection with a large part of the music community."

As the dust from his personal crisis was settling, Casey began to question everything about life and embraced other possibilities. Spending less time in crowded cars and all but disappearing from the Twin Cities music scene, he holed up in his studio, writing and reflecting.

Casey produced a variety of recording projects -- contributing as a guitarist to other artist's releases and underscoring film and video pieces for companies such as Target Corporation, Casino America and the Dalton Sherman Advertising Agency. He also ventured into film acting and produced the second commercially released album for Bob Dylan's nephew, Luke Zimmerman.

After years underground, the multi-talented Casey steps back into the sun with his best work yet - Late Bloomer, an introspective, upbeat musical journal packed with clever lyrics and catchy hooks.

Rooted in Americana, Late Bloomer ranges from raw, heartfelt country nuggets to The Stones-meet-Wilco. Casey's fertile imagination and prolific songwriting talent takes listeners through an honest and sometimes humorous adventure of heartbreak, dating, friendship and the magic of discovering new love.

Focus tracks from Late Bloomer include: the punchy, autobiographical "All I Ever Wanted"; "The Denial Song", a tongue-in-cheek homage to the pitfalls of dating a crazy woman; the rollicking foot-stompin' honky-tonk influenced "You're My Favorite"; and petal to the metal laid-back twang of "Another Texas Mile."
